Compared to the rest of its rosters, Team Liquid’s Valorant lineup is quite weak. Lately, the team has failed to reach close to victory. They still need to make a title win to prove themselves competition worthy. It looked like the lineup needed slight changes to make that happen. Finally, Team Liquid announced the addition of banned ex-Counter Strike: Global Offence player Jamppi to their Valorant roster.

The previous roster disappointed a lot of fans and analysts alike with early losses in the VCT Challengers tournaments. In Challengers One, Team Liquid qualified for the closed qualifier portion of the tournament but lost against FunPlus Phoenix. The following Challengers, they could not even cross the open portion of the qualifier. The team also failed to push past the quarterfinals in First Strike Europe. Jamppi’s addition to the team is supposed to bring an immediate improvement in results.

Elias ‘Jamppi’ Olkkonen is a 19-year-old Finnish rising FPS star representing ENCE in competitive before transferring to Valorant. He got banned by Valve during his early days, even before he could showcase his potential. He then sued Valve, demanding reimbursement for his missed earnings and a removal of his ban. The lawsuit failed to deliver favorable results. It further revealed that he had purchased a second copy of CS:GO in 2015 for his friend to play at a LAN. But then 14-year-old Elias claimed he had sold that account before it was VAC-banned.
