Teenage Creator Tommyinnit Reveals How MrBeast’s Dizzying Success is a Threat to YouTube

MrBeast aka Jimmy Donaldson has a lot of admirers, not only among his fans, but also among his fellow YouTube creators. Jimmy has collaborated with several of his peers from the beginning of his YouTube career. However, he has had a uniquely fast growth on the platform that is currently incomparable. In fact, he is on the brink of reaching 100 million subscribers on his main channel.

Most of his popularity happened due to his unique content ideas. MrBeast revolutionized the genre of expensive stunts on YouTube, inspiring a lot of other creators on YouTube too. However, he has mostly been unbeatable in terms of popularity and ideas, leading to creators, who idolize him, setting incredibly high bars for themselves.

A notable creator on YouTube, ‘TommyInnit’ has expressed his love for MrBeast’s content in an interview. However, he also shared some interesting views on the impact MrBeast’s ideas have on the ideation in modern content creation.

TommyInnit shares his views on MrBeast

In an interview with Colin and Sameer, TommyInnit shared his admiration for MrBeast. In fact, MrBeast came up when Colin, Sameer, and TommyInnit were talking about how YouTube makes it extremely challenging to not do what everyone else is doing.

“I think that YouTube is the platform for comparison.” Sameer mentioned as Colin took over, “And the basis of it is wanting to be validated for what you’re putting out there.”

Sameer and Colin then asked TommyInnit whether the situation keeps him from innovating in his videos. And, the popular Minecraft YouTuber and Dream SMP member had a very elaborate answer to the same, including an example to MrBeast.

“I think what MrBeast does is amazing. I think his videos are great… uh, I really loved the Squid Game, I, like everyone else on the planet,” he mentioned. He also adds that MrBeast’s humongous popularity has caused many creators to try and become more like him.

“I think so many individual youtubers including myself, um, I’ve seen that MrBeast gets the most views and he’s amplified why he’s popular but because he just gets, on paper, the most views, everyone else has tried to be more like MrBeast,” TommyInnit explains.

TommyInnit elaborates on the impact of MrBeast’s ideas

The popular creator from Britain also goes on to explain how MrBeast’s ideas affect the creativity on YouTube. He adds how MrBeast uses extremely awestrucking, hyper-realistic thumbnails for his videos, which indirectly sets standards for every creator around him. It’s true that MrBeast’s intriguing thumbnails act as a views machine.

“It’s almost forced MrBeast to keep progressing himself because everyone else is so caught up with him. And I think it isn’t good for creativity.” TommyInnit elaborates.

Tommy also mentions how many creators on YouTube have been embracing expensive stunts as a genre. According to him, it was an indirect result of MrBeast gaining popularity with the same.

“Now, everyone else has started doing that I think it’s bad for creativity… I don’t think what MrBeast is doing is bad but I think people should really have, you know, have confidence and look at themselves.” he adds. Tommy also urges established YouTubers to amplify what they are good at and not adopt other’s ideas simply because of views.

TommyInnit’s opinion is a truth bomb and sheds light on YouTube’s current scenario. It’s important to preserve originality. Every creator should focus on their strengths and work on the same to create a niche of their own.
