The upcoming Nintendo Direct has been a trigger for huge rounds of speculations since last week. In fact, a lot of leaks had guaranteed fans of a June 15 Direct. However, recent developments have just marked such anticipations with a great amount of doubt. Will we get a Nintendo Switch Direct any time soon?
2022’s Summer Game Fest kicked off at the promised hour yesterday and had some exciting revelations to share with fans. From Call of Duty receiving the much-anticipated gameplay reveal to the much-needed confirmation of The Last of Us Remake, the event was quite successful.

Among all the surprises at the Summer Game Fest, we also witnessed an unexpected release date trailer of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Although the trailer revealed the launch date we all wanted for this beat ’em up video game, it also introduced doubts regarding the upcoming Nintendo Direct.
The Nintendo Direct in June may or may not happen
Nintendo didn’t confirm the Direct’s actual date, but a lot of fans seemed to believe the leaks with all their hearts. Why wouldn’t they? Many industry insiders even confirmed the event to be happening on June 15.
As it happens, fans were expecting Nintendo to drop the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge during the anticipated June 15 Direct. However, Dotemu surprised us during the Summer Game Fest instead.

There’s a low chance that Nintendo will host a Direct right before a big release. In the midst of all these, a new Nintendo insider comment was spotted yesterday. The comment, apparently, rules out June 14 as a possibility.
NateDrake posted his opinion on a thread filled with Nintendo Direct speculations. He advised everyone to “practice patience”. As SwitchForce pointed out in his latest video, why would he ask us to practice patience for something which is next week?

It is possible that the Nintendo Direct may not happen next week, but fans are not ready to lose hope just yet. Since the insiders have hinted at a June release window, we may witness the Direct sometime later this month. However, it will probably not be in the week of June 13.
Shredder’s Revenge releases on June 16
The newest title in the iconic TMNT series is all set to hit Nintendo Switch stores in less than a week from now. In fact, the game’s trailer showcase at the Summer Game Fest was a treat to nostalgic fans. It featured vivid gameplay of the TMNT fame and also added a new fan-favorite character, Casey Jones, to the roster.

Moreover, Shredder’s Revenge will support a 6-player co-op mode too. Alongside Nintendo Switch, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will release on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, with support via backwards compatibility for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
