Tekken 8 is on its way. The franchise kicked off in 1994 and has been a fan favorite for almost three decades now. Next year will be the 30th anniversary of the first game in the massively popular series. Naturally, fans expect something huge from the devs to mark the occasion. And what’s a better way to do that than a new game release?

PlayStation State of Play 2022 was an event etched in the memory of any gamer. It showcased massive titles like God of War Ragnarok and Hogwarts Legacy, and the very first announcement of Tekken 8. But since then, there’s not much that has been revealed. However, a new piece of information has recently come to light. According to an industry insider, the latest title in the franchise has received its official game rating in South Korea, by the Game Rating and Administration Committee. Does this mean fans won’t have to wait much longer?

Based on the rating approval of the game, many fans think the game should launch soon enough. If the source is accurate, there’s reason to believe the game could be here soon. Previously, Tekken 7 was rated only four months prior to its release. If this is an indication of things to come, the community can hope for the game to be available to play in 2023 itself.

However, in November 2022, Bandai Namco claimed that Tekken 8 is also under development with the aim of being released after 2023.” In that case, we’re still 6 to 7 months away from Tekken 8’s release, since fiscal years end in March of each year. The first quarter of 2024 should be the appropriate time for Tekken 8 to make its official debut in the market.
