In the upcoming months, three of the biggest fighting games, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Tekken will make be coming back to the gaming industry with their new installments. Tekken 8, one of the most iconic titles in the world of fighting games, is back with the fan-favorite character – Bryan Fury, although he is missing an old touch.
Bandai Namco and PlayStation revealed the new design for the deranged zombie cyborg, Bryan Fury, on YouTube. The trailer’s tagline teased fans about his wild lust for violence and destruction. His reveal has garnered a positive response from the game’s fans, but his modern touch comes at the cost of one of his iconic features.
Accidental reveal of Tekken 8’s ruthless fighter

The recent Tekken 8 character reveal encountered a few bumps along the way. The character’s intro, reveal and gameplay mistakenly surfaced on the Bandai Namco Europe Twitter account before the official reveal. Producer Michael Murray also expressed apologies for the premature leak.

Thrilling gameplay but missing an iconic touch
Despite the hiccup, the trailer still grabbed fans’ love with Bryan’s thrilling gameplay. With his iconic shock of white hair and hyper-aggressive fighting style, the detective turned zombie cyborg remains a standout character since his introduction to Tekken 3. The trailer highlighted his manic ferocity, featuring him unleashing devastating attacks with his cybernetic eye and even celebrating with a mini-gun toss. The trailer ended with Bryan throwing his mini-gun at the screen.

In the trailer, Fury is looking very crisp because of the visual upscale, but unfortunately, he’s lost his iconic laugh. His previous iconic laugh has been replaced with a modernized version but fans share that it doesn’t hit the same way it did as the old one.

A user on YouTube commented below the trailer video, “His iconic laugh from Tekken 3-5 will always be legendary.” Another fan added, “Like why the heck did they drop that. The entire video that’s all I’m looking for. That’s literally his signature and personality all in one”. Another user suggested a clever solution to their dilemma, saying “it they were smart that line would be on the classic costume option”.

Tekken 8 was initially announced in June of last year, but a specific release date has yet to be confirmed by Bandai Namco. The game has confirmed the return of many beloved characters, including Leroy Smith, Jack-8, Asuka Kazama, Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, Marshall Law,Jun Kazama, King II, Lars Alexandersson, Ling Xiaoyu, Nina Williams, and Paul Phoenix.
