The legendary “Major Nelson” has decided to step down from his association with the console giant. The news has saddened all the Xbox lovers across the gaming community. 

Lawrence Hryb was a core member of the Microsoft gaming community. The latter was a Director of Programming for the company’s gaming network. He is also popularly associated with his Xbox Live Gamertag “Major Nelson”.  The news came as a shock to the fans as the CEO penned down an emotional goodbye message to his friend.

Larry Hryb has served the gaming community for over 20 years. All these years, the legend gave so many memories to the eSporting community. His works have been a benchmark of innovations and genius. The latter informed the fans about his decision through a tweet. He also expressed gratitude to gaming fans all across the globe who supported his works through thick and thin. The programmer also thanked the Microsoft team while concluding his journey with the company. 

Phil Spencer, The Xbox CEO took to Twitter to give one of the foundational legends of Xbox gaming. He wrote, “Larry, it has been awesome to work alongside you on this journey. Thank you for being a friend, and for everything you’ve done for our Xbox community and team.”

Xbox is currently undergoing a transition in the company’s gaming culture. The developers are attempting to invest in giant titles to assert their dominance in the console rivalry. Thus, some fans speculated the decision to be hinting at an inside conflict of thoughts. In any case, the heartfelt send-off made the gamers emotional as they responded to the tweet.
