The HBO series ‘The Last of Us‘ is having a rollercoaster ride on both the entertainment screens and performance charts. Filled with suspense and a dystopian reflection of the post-apocalyptic world, the series shows the perspective of Joel and Ellie, played by renowned actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, respectively, who have their own thrilling stories of getting cast.

The Last of Us series is doing pure justice to its source material and leaving the viewers hooked on it. The crowd has unanimously declared the third episode to be the greatest one yet. And while the series revealed itself, the fans were nothing but excited to hear about a second season of it.

Surely, Pascal and Ramsey are doing wonders with the duo performances on the bigger screens. Ramsey did exclaim how she had a change of heart about doing the role of Ellie. Surprisingly, Pascal even forgot that he was cast for the role of Joel.

On the topic of the ongoing series TLOU, Fallon did ask how Pascal got the role of Joel in TLOU. To this, the TLOU actor replied, “That was a really strange circumstance. I was actually in London, and everyone else was in Los Angeles. And I got sent these scripts and I was told that ‘Craig Mazin wants you to read these scripts, and if you like them, he’d like to talk to you.'”

Citing his excitement, he said, “Anyway, I read the first script, and I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah. I want to meet him, I want to meet him.’ And we talked, we fell in love.” He further stated that he had a call with Neil Druckmann, the Co-President of Naughty Dog. As it was getting late, he admitted to having taken Ambien (a sleeping pill) to blow off some adrenaline.

Then Pascal told the moment of getting the job by saying, “I get a call, and I get told that I got the job after I took the Ambien. And so, I was excited, I guess, but I didn’t remember. I woke up in the morning, and the first thing that occurred to me, was like, ‘Oh, man. I really want that job.'” 

Luckily, he remembered that he had gotten the job after seeing the congratulatory messages on the phone and jumped into excitement. Therefore, this was the suspenseful, comic, and thrilling story of how Pascal got the role of Joel.
