The wall between content creation and boxing has narrowed in the past few years. This narrowing wall has led to the rising of creator boxing, where content creators clash against each other in the boxing ring. It has also led many creators to quit making videos and transition to boxing.

There are many creators-turned-boxers now, and one of the biggest examples is Jake Paul. But aside from Paul, there are also the likes of the Olatunji brothers. However, JJ “KSI” Olatunji hasn’t completely transitioned to boxing and only occasionally fights. But his younger brother Deji has made a full-time move to boxing.

Deji’s latest fight was against the boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, who has an undefeated record in his career. Deji also lost to him but was able to give Mayweather a black eye, which even impressed the boxing legend. Recently, Deji’s older brother KSI revealed what ignited his passion for boxing that led to this fight against Mayweather.

KSI revealed when Deji started boxing

Deji made his boxing debut in 2018 as an amateur fighter against Jake Paul. But KSI recently revealed that wasn’t the beginning for his younger brother as a boxer. Instead, the start of Deji’s boxing dates back to even beyond 2018 and against none other than JJ Olatunji.

KSI recently reacted to his old videos, and a lot of them were his old prank videos which also used to feature Deji a lot. In one of the videos, JJ slapped Deji while he was sleeping. It enraged the younger Olatunji, who tried punching KSI but failed. But after seeing it, JJ said, “That was the start of Deji’s boxing career. You see that little jab he tried throwing at me.”

The 29-year-old wasn’t serious about it and was making fun of his brother. But one thing that could be said is Deji sure came a long way, as he nearly fell while trying to punch his older brother. But now he fought Floyd Mayweather and left him with a black eye. That is undoubtedly a massive development for Deji.

So far Deji has only won one match in his boxing stint. But it wasn’t the last, as he still has a long way ahead and will possibly improve. It would be interesting to see many bouts Deji will win in 2023.
