The Microsoft x Activision Deal is stretching more than it should actually stretch and the reason behind it is Sony not being very helpful on their end to strike a deal with Xbox for the deal. This was also the reason why Phil Spencer is really trying to work things out between their Japanese competitors, including Sony as well as Nintendo.

But as Sony is creating a lot of hurdles for Microsoft to not allow them to get a good chunk of the market for themselves, Microsoft Gaming Chief, Phil Spencer is seemingly losing patience and has now stated that Sony is actually more adamant to talk with the regulators rather than Microsoft themselves.

In his recent interview with Bloomberg, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer made it very clear that he is constantly trying to strike a “win-win” game for the Activision and Microsoft deal regarding Sony. This is because of the fact that Sony has constantly been trying to delay the deal for Microsoft as they fear that the deal might help Microsoft to gain a large chunk of the gaming market effortlessly. Thus, if it happens, Sony fears that it might face a similar fate to “Nintendo.”

Although, it is somewhat true in a retrospective way, making it difficult for Microsoft does prove that they themselves are getting promotions in a good light. Thus, regarding this, Phil Spencer said, “Our intent is to become more relevant on more screens. We have a pretty good idea of how to build a win-win relationship with Nintendo and frankly Sony.” He further said, “There’s been one game industry participant that’s really been raising all the objections, and that’s Sony, and they’ve been fairly public about the things that don’t meet their expectations.”

What is the new Nintendo Deal?

According to an article by The Washington Post, it was revealed by Phil Spencer that Microsoft is really thoughtful about making Activision games available on all consoles, including Nintendo for 10 years. Thus regarding this, he said, “Once we get into the rhythm of this, our plan would be that when [a Call of Duty game] launches on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, that it would also be available on Nintendo at the same time.”

Therefore, making it clear that the company is really trying to strike a deal that can be proven beneficial for all the stakeholders.
