Back in the 90s, Shaq partnered with game developers to create Shaq-Fu, a 2D fighting game. However, the 7’1 giant received little appreciation, making him pay less attention to it. As a result, he discarded the product, focusing on other things in life. Shaq did not regretted about the video game as he understood the space a little. However, as years passed, he expressed his regrets, thinking he could’ve done much better in the digital space.

In 2018, Shaq appeared in an interview with GamXplain. The franchise had invited Shaq to talk about his video game, Shaq-Fu. In 1994, the basketball legend, partnered with multiple developers like Unexpected Development, Delphine Software International, Tiertex Design Studios, and Big Deez Productions. He, alongside the group, decided to star himself in a fighting game called, Shaq-Fu.

While O’Neal was just learning about the video game industry, he paid little attention to the title and its production. At this point, Shaq did not know about the industry’s potential, limiting himself to invest more in his game. However, when time passed, he understood the need of the hour, making him re-invest in his game.

“I didn’t foresee coming to this whole digital age because, in high school, I played all the block games the Sega the double dribble,” Shaq explained while talking about the video game industry’s growth.
With that being said, it is important to understand that the basketball legend has made some notable investments compared to his missed opportunities. So, even if he regrets this one, he has multiple others making him rich!
