A series that can be traced back to the year 2002 celebrates a special day for one of its installments today. The title that received massive critical acclaim along with overwhelming fan reception turns ten today, and FPS fanatics couldn’t help but reminisce about the remarkable legacy of the “best of Battlefield ever made.”

The journey of Dice developed EA publication began back in 2002 with Battlefield 1942. Following the response Battlefield’s debut project received, developers envisioned a promising lineup. However, fans feel the series has lost its charm over the last few years. Moreover, the competition with other FPS giants like Call of Duty, Halo, Valorant, and Counter-Strike has only added to the decline in numbers for Battlefield. But with this ten-year-old title, fans revisit the ‘glory days’ of the brand.

Battlefield 4 was released on October 29, 2013, which is exactly ten years back! Feeling old yet? On the game’s 10th annivrsary, a fan page shared an emotional tweet on X. The tweet also included a glimpse of the ten-year-old gameplay. 

Takes you back, right? The debate around Battlefield’s best project to date is never-ending. But there’s no denying the fact that the 2013 release remains in the top-tier creations under the label. Apparently, for some fans, it is even the chart-topper. The game also ended up setting some sky-high expectations for the fans with its successors.

According to Metacritic, Battlefield 4 scores a remarkable score of 85. On the contrary, Battlefield 2042 could only manage a score of 68 on the site. Thus, the score when compared to the latest release considering all the advancements the developers have made in terms of graphics and innovations showcases the potential of the 2013 release. No surprise, fans are thrilled on this special day.

The tweet immediately went viral across social media as it struck a strong nostalgic chord among the FPS fanatics. Here are some of the reactions that joined in the anniversary celebrations.
