The Callisto Protocol Developers Excites Fans by Announcing Future Updates, Featuring New Game+ and Hardcore Mode

The Callisto protocol, the Spiritual successor to the popular third-person action horror series Dead Space, launched on December 2. The game is already garnering positive reviews all over from the fans. People are praising its action sequences and its ability to catch people unaware.

The Callisto Protocol is being headed by Glen Schofield, the creator of the Dead Space series and Scott Whitney. It was one of 2022’s most anticipated games. However, despite delivering a stunning game, it doesn’t seem to end there as they are also preparing to treat the fans in the long run.

Six months of content coming to The Callisto Protocol starting February

Now that the game’s launch is out of the way, developer Striking Distance Studios and publisher Krafton have revealed their content plan for The Callisto Protocol. They have revealed almost everything that players and season pass holders can expect to come to The Callisto protocol in the next six months.

According to their tweet, players can expect a New Game+ mode and a Hardcore Mode to be released, starting from February 7, 2023, followed by potential monthly updates. These would be free for all the players.

The Season Pass holders would get the following content:

  1. Outer Way Skin Collection- February 7, 2023
  2. Contagion Bundle- March 2023
  3. Riot bundle- Spring 2023
  4.  Extra Story DLC- Summer 2023

The tweet also said that there would be more details regarding the upcoming content for Game Pass users soon.

The horror gaming season starts with this release

The Callisto Protocol is the first in the line of numerous horror games announced that are set to follow in 2023. Next, we would be seeing the remake of Electronic Arts’ own Dead Space. This remake is in development at Motive Studios and has a release date of January 27.

Then we would be getting another remake of Resident Evil 4. Developer Capcom is working on this game and using their popular RE Engine to do so. It is slated to launch on consoles and PC on March 24, 2023.

Finally, there’s Silent Hill 2 remake. Konami has trusted Bloober Team with remaking the cult classic. And it would be released somewhere around the end of 2023 for PlayStation 5 and Windows. The Bloober Team would be using Unreal Engine 5 to develop this game.

Currently, The Callisto Protocol has everyone’s attention. It is getting a good response all over. Players are calling it faithful to the Dead Space game, but some are also criticizing its difficulty and overreliance on cut-scenes.
