This year’s Mario Day has been phenomenal for every Super Mario fan. Nintendo hosted a small Direct event to launch the final trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It is an upcoming animated movie based on Nintendo’s Super Mario series. During the Direct, fans got to see the final trailer as well as special messages from all the voice actors in the movie.

But the final trailer wasn’t the only video that went viral yesterday. Ster-Kinekor’s trailer to promote the availability of Super Mario Bros. Movie tickets also went viral on March 10. Many famous animated characters featured in the advertising video helped this South African film company’s video go viral online.

Illumination characters are watching The Super Mario Bros. Movie at Ster-Kinekor

Illumination is a successful animation studio known for creating successful movie series like Despicable Me and Sing. Everyone has heard about the little yellow characters called Minions, who are also Illumination’s creations. Moreover, this American animation studio is also responsible for the upcoming Super Mario movie.

Ster-Kinekor teamed up with Illumination to create a promotional video for the upcoming Mario movie. In the trailer, famous Illumination characters like Felonius Gru with his family and Sing’s star koala Buster Moon with his animal friends went to watch the Super Mario movie at Ster-Kinekor.

Further, the trailer also featured many other famous Illumination characters, like the studio’s mascot- Minions. Also, there was a fun gag in the video where Buster entered the theatre showing his e-ticket on his phone. However, Miss Crawly was unaware of this technological advancement and thought she needs to get her old mobile phone scanned to watch the movie. The animals from The Secret Life of Pets were also visible at one point.

The Illumination fans were thrilled to see their favorite character featured in this promotional video. They also claimed it to be a very wholesome video to watch. But most of them praised the marketing tactics for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie. Moreover, some fans started comparing it to other animation studios like Disney.
