Destiny 2 is one of the most popular live service games out there. Fans of this game definitely find it very hard to stay away from it. Just like any other live service game, this one also focuses on rewards. Leveling up and buying stuff from in-game stores.

There’s a very intricate system that directs people toward this stuff. But when people start cheating in the game, it becomes increasingly hard to do so. Hence, developer Bungie has made a public announcement addressing the cheaters.

Bungie warns Destiny 2 players against cheating in the game!
Nowadays, cheating is different; players do not use a Konami code or a bunch of predetermined numbers to activate cheats; they buy weird software. Developer Ring-1 is the only developer who uses such cheats. They sell these for a price of $59 and $119 per month, which is a high price to pay just so you can shoot more accurately.

But Sony and Bungie seem to have caught on. For those who are unaware, Bungie is now a PlayStation studio, and they are developing a new game for the PlayStation 5 console too. But that does not mean they have any intention of leaving Destiny 2 behind. It’s a golden goose. After all, some cheaters are trying to slaughter this goose, and Bungie and PlayStation are pissed.

In a recent tweet, Verge’s Tom Warren made it clear that cheaters can now start counting their days. Bungie has in fact decided to take the developer of those cheats, Ring-1 to court.
This means they would be suing for damages; they would then ask Ring-1 to take that cheat down, and they would then probably find every cheater out there and ban their accounts. And it is pretty justified, to be honest; cheaters often end up being a nuisance to their fellow gamers.

It is one thing to ruin your game, and it is a completely different thing when one bothers their fellow gamers. And in the case of games like Destiny 2, it becomes even worse; the gamers actually ruin the whole economy that they build.
"The days of Destiny 2 cheaters being free to engage in a wholesale assault on the Destiny 2 game and its community without fear of consequences are over," says Sony-owned Bungie in a lawsuit against cheat developers Ring-1. It remains to be seen when Activision decides to take a similar action, as Ring-1 seems to be selling similar cheats for their popular titles, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Even worse, it appears there’s a cheat for Warzone 2, once again threatening to ruin a carefully designed experience that revolves around players and microtransactions.
