The Game Awards 2022: Fans go crazy as Death Stranding 2 gets confirmed by Hideo Kojima

While there were already strong rumors going on regarding the next entry in the future-apocalyptic franchise, no one had an idea about what was going inside Hideo Kojima‘s head, before The Game Awards. Some speculations hinted at his other rumored horror game called Overdose while others thought that he would present any other project.

However, all the doubts were cleared when Mr. Kojima stepped onto the stage to reveal Death Stranding 2, with an exclusive teaser trailer. Published by Sony, the video features actress Léa Seydoux. She famously portrayed the role of Fragile in the first part. Moreover, Norman Reedus is also confirmed to return as Sam Porter Bridges. The Last of Us fame Troy Baker is also going to be in the PlayStation 5 exclusive.

While sharing details about the anticipated game, Hideo Kojima said that he had its “story written before the pandemic” but “after experiencing the pandemic I just rewrote the whole story from scratch. I also didn’t want to predict any more future, so I rewrote it.”

Now all the dots can be connected properly since Kojima was already busy teasing Death Stranding 2 ahead of The Game Awards. Through various, mysterious images he was giving hints on the main announcement itself. And he eventually did it as well.

Meanwhile, die-hard DS fans wasted no time in sharing their thoughts to this massive news from the Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain creator. They are very happy and overly hyped for the release of the sequel, which is currently having a working title.

“Now I really have to get a ps5. Hopefully by the time this releases the stock issues and scalping will be sorted. Might wait for a collector edition console tho,” wrote one user on Twitter.

DS 2 is yet to get an official release date. It will be launched for PlayStation 5.
