The Latest episode of HBO’s The Last of us series was unlike any previous episode. This one featured a couple of new characters, introduced some new sequences, and skipped a few scenes, but for the most part, it remained faithful to the game.

This is where fans found themselves blown away. It appears that the showrunners decided to listen to the fans of the games and give them a bunch of surprises. Hence, instead of watching the episode, fans were left counting easter eggs this time around!

In the latest episode of The Last of Us series, we saw Joel finally reunite with his brother Tommy. Tommy is now married to Maria and she leads a communal.

While they are all catching up sitting in a large hall, this hall is very similar to the one we saw in the trailer for The Last of Us 2. The one where Ellie and Dina are shown dancing.

Then in the same hall, when Ellie and Joel are eating their food, Ellie notices a girl glaring at her. She instantly screams at her and makes her run away in fear. That girl is none other than Dina herself. Dina is Elli’s future girlfriend.

Then we are shown a little foal. That baby horse grabs Ellie’s attention, when Ellie goes and pets her, Maria tells Ellie her name, It’s Shimmer. Shimmer is the name of Ellie’s main horse in The Last of Us 2.

All these things are definitely hyping fans up for the upcoming season of this series. Even though the first season is yet to end, it makes sense for the makers to include these things in this episode.

This would help them introduce these characters and things to the viewers better in future episodes. And these things also, make for an exciting piece of reference for long-time fans of the video game franchise.

The series is already heading toward its end, Ellie and Joel have entered winter, which was made evident by the white rabbit carcass that Ellie was carrying.
