While they gather fuel for their truck, and hide and take naps in thick forests, Ellie tells Joel those ever-familiar punny (though not always funny) jokes. These scenes would remind the fans of the game and why they fell in love with it.

Their conversations were indeed the fuel to the burning love that fans hold for this series. How they discussed things, how Ellie questioned everything Joel did, and how he gave no answer at first but did later.

Eventually, we are shown some very faithful recreations of what happens in the game, and then we are introduced to an original character, Kathleen. She runs a military group that actively fights FEDRA or a group more commonly known as the Military.

While Kathleen avenges all she has lost and looks for an individual name, “Henry”, Joel and Ellie find themselves sharing jokes and just chilling amidst this conflict. Watching these two characters talking to each other, eating, and traveling together, we can’t help but notice how effortlessly these actors play them. Bella Ramsey is as comfortable in the shoes of Ellie as she ever was. She is opening up to her only partner in this journey.
