This year’s Halloween is going to be extra horrific as Universal Studios has announced the popular horror game ‘The Last of Us’ as their Horror Night’s theme of 2023. As confirmed by the recent tweet from the developer Neil Druckmann, it is decided that this zombie apocalypse will be featured on Halloween at Universal Studios Orlando and California, respectively.

Since the announcement, fans have already flooded social media platforms to experience their favorite video game world coming into a sort of reality. The Last of Us, which received immense popularity after its OTT adaption by HBO, is also celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

Recently Neil Druckmann, the developer and creative head of The Last of Us team, took to Twitter to spread the news among his followers.

He mentioned the head of the entertainment creative of Universal Studios Orlando, Micheal Aiello confirming the reliability of the announcement- “Who says nothing good comes out of this website? The Last of Us is coming to @UniStudios & @UniversalORL for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights! Thanks for answering the call, @Michael_Aiello and setting up what has been an incredible collaboration!”

Fans go gaga after the Halloween theme announcement

Since the official confirmation, content creator and famous streamer Dom The Bomb posted a similar tweet giving a glimpse of The Last of Us-themed Horror Nights celebration at this year’s Halloween with an official poster of the event.

He commented on being excited to attend the event- “We’ll time to start getting my plans ready I’m hooked.”

Many fans have confirmed to attend the show- “I’m most likely going !!”

One of the fans posted a screenshot from Neil Druckmann’s Instagram post of similar content that shows Pedro Pascal’s comment on attending the event.

Many fans commented about their long anticipation and their excitement after the official announcement- “Got my tickets a few weeks ago. Heard rumors of a last of us theme and I can’t believe I’m gonna be Harry pottering by day and Last of Using by night.”

There were sarcastic comments from the fans who will not be able to experience a glimpse of this popular video game- “They had to do this when im pregnant?? This is what i get for having a baby in sept-october.”
