According to the rumors, the makers have plans for season 3 as well. Joel and Ellie come across each other to complete the missing puzzle pieces of each other’s life. Season 1 specifically focused on the post-apocalyptic trauma faced by the leads.  But season 2 is more of an enigma, given the source material upon which it’s based: The Last of Us Part II, the sequel set several years after the events of Part I.
