Fans long anticipated season 2 of HBO’s popular The Last of Us series. Recently, this anticipation grew stronger with this show’s writer and co-creator Craig Mazin revealing some exclusive teasers about the project. Craig Mazin said that he accepted his earlier comment on bringing multiple seasons of this popular show. However, the writer’s response prioritized the narrative over everything- “You never know. It can end up being three or five. But four seems like a good number. Some seasons, because of the story we’re telling, will need fewer episodes and some will need more.”
Mazin’s statement confirmed that after the success and fame of the first season, HBO increased the budget for the second season. However, Mazin also spoke that never for once in his life, he was satisfied with a budget bump. He further discussed HBO’s cooperation with the team and appreciation for the creative success of the show. The Last of Us season 1 became the most streamed show on HBO Originals with twenty-four nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards.
