With the release of The Last of Us 2, fans revisited the franchise in Ellie’s story of revenge. It looks like gamers will be visiting the franchise once more after this shocking twist.
In an interview, composer Gustavo Santaolalla seemingly confirmed a remastered version of Last of Us 2 will be coming to PlayStation 5.

Gustavo Santaolalla is the mind behind the franchise’s iconic music. After all, the music and soundtracks are a crucial part of how people view the game. During an interview, Santaolalla spoke of his easter egg in the game. Those who already made their way through Last of Us 2 know about the cameo, an easter egg where players approach a guitarist. This is none other than Gustavo Santaolalla.

During the interview, the composer went back to this cameo. He spoke of a new feature, where players choose what song the character plays in-game. This feature will be available in the new version. Following this, Santaolalla refused to elaborate, saying he can not do so. Fans think the new version is nothing other than a remastered version of the game for the PlayStation 5.

In the interview, he said, “New editions, this one we will be able to make me play certain songs, and well nothing, I can’t tell you anything else.” New features like this one usually come to titles once they are remastered. A similar practice is followed by a lot of other developers.

The idea of a PlayStation 5 remaster for the Last of Us 2 seems more concrete, especially since only a short while ago, the first game came to PlayStation 5. On September 5, 2022, Naughty Dog released Last of Us 1 for the PlayStation 5, with the PC version coming in March 2023.
