Recently, MrBeast joined MIT Research Scientist and podcaster Lex Fridman on the podcast panel. The two personalities discussed the future of Twitter, YouTube, content creation advice and dynamics, and much more. As the topics kept getting addressed, Fridman brought up a “strange question” to which Jimmy seemed to have an answer.

Fridman bought up MrBeast’s “Hi Me In One Year,” and “Hi Me In 5 Years” type videos. As told by MrBeast, these videos were filmed when he had around 8K subscribers on YouTube and voiced the goals that he should have achieved in six months, one year, five years, and more.

Asked by Fridman if he had more “Hi Me In…” videos scheduled, MrBeast said, “Yes, there are some that are scheduled like 20 years in the future, and so, if I don’t die, I’ll just move ’em up. And I remember… ‘Cause I filmed these like seven years ago, but it was… I remember saying a line like, ‘If I’m dead, then I’m currently just in a coffin,’ and like whatever, blah, blah.”

He continued, “The only way the video would go up is if I’m not alive. And if I’m not alive, then I won’t be able to push back the scheduled upload dates so it’ll go public automatically. And so, yeah, I have a couple of those.”
