The PlayStation Game of The Year award has been bestowed on Resident Evil 4 Remake. The Remake was released earlier this year and has been applauded by fans all over. Coupled with modern technology, the nostalgia for the original 2004 Resident Evil 4 helped the game to see a long line of players spending hours in the classic survival horror game. In September, devs Capcom announced a bunch of DLCs for the game and this ensured the player base didn’t diminish anytime soon.

However, while Resident Evil 4 Remake basks in its latest achievement, some fans aren’t happy that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 didn’t get to be crowned this year’s winner by PS. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released in October. The cut-off date for a game to be considered for the GOTY award ends in September. Apparently, Insomniac’s latest missed out on the opportunity for being released late rather than having anything to do with how it’s received by the fans.
