Call Of Duty’s Narrative Director reveals massive ‘Ghost’ update ahead of Modern Warfare 2 release

In 2019, Activision thrilled the community with a massive game addition for fans. They launched Modern Warfare, a game that allured millions of fans instantly. Activision churned a massive revenue from the game as its copies sold out faster than light. However, that also alerted the entry of a dark cloud called ‘expectations.’

Looking at Modern Warfare’s success, fans then demanded a much better version in the coming time. And so, the developers had to work for countless hours to avoid mistakes at all costs. This led to the game’s delay, making fans wait for months together. However, Activision knew the right ways to keep the hype as they launched multiple campaigns for the same.

Now, with just a few days left for the game’s release, its narrative directors revealed a massive surprise for fans. Jeffrey Negus, the narrative director alongside head writer Brian Bloom, ‘revealed their idea for a Call of Duty one-off.’ Here’s what they said: “Yeah, I’m going to say it. Ghost’s origin story.” Apparently, they wanted the iconic ‘Ghost’ to be the kickstarter as he has been a pivotal part of the franchise.

The writer continued“There are others who would like to do that too, and we think that would be really interesting. There’s something about that character that’s iconic, but the mask and some of those more superficial elements, as we’ve attempted to build them out here in our current release, where did some of those things come from? And exploring that, and looking at that would be something I think the audience would love, and we would love to get into.”

Lastly, it is important to remember that Ghost has been the face of the franchise for Modern Warfare 2’s art. Plus, he’s played a major role in the franchise. So, if they want him to be the star, be it! After all, fans absolutely adore this masked soldier.
