Elon Musk has recently been a crusader against Twitter accounts that have been reporting extensively on him. The internet, however, is not very happy about it. Normally, many would think that banning accounts that are effectively following Elon Musk is a defensive move by him. However, it has to be kept in mind that Elon Musk himself said that he is committed to “free speech”.

Notably, Musk has been really against the idea of him and his family being real-time doxxed. This is because constantly being followed and reported on is threatening to anyone who has to suffer through it.  However, Hasan Piker believes that this banning of prominent journalists  is more like a “dictatorship”.

Hasan Piker bashes Elon Musk for banning journalists

Elon Musk started banning and suspending journalists, for following his real-time position and updating it on Twitter. It seems however that his move was not very much approved by the media personnel and political commentators like Hasan Piker.

Notably, Hasan Piker said regarding the bans, “this is like a billionaire who bought a platform for 44 billion dollars, unironically going after like Tech reporters for doing their job. Yeah? Their job is to literally report on Elon Musk doing this sort of stuff and this is like New York Times reporters. This is Dictatorship.”

Piker further said, “This is awesome because what Elon Musk is doing right now is unironically like is a literally corporate dictatorship. Okay? This is like Saudi Royal s**t, but he’s basically doing it inside of the corporate America framework. And this is hopefully a moment where people will realize that this is exactly the same as like authoritarian governance that you see overseas.”

However, it has to be noticed that the Twitter CEO has also said that he is not permanently banning most of those accounts. He even said that Wikipedia can’t be trusted because of it being “controlled by the MSM journalists”. Thus making it really confusing what he is trying to do with Twitter and his actual motives behind all these bans.
