After the mega earthquake in Turkey and Syria, thousands of lives have been affected. To support his native country in this time of peril, streamer HasanAbi, came forward with a fundraiser to raise as much help as he can. To lend a helping hand towards the effort infamous young streamer, IShowSpeed tried to donate what he can but was quickly halted by rabid fans. 

Both Hasan and Speed have a very controversial presence in the streaming world. While the young Speed is criticized for his controversial comments and obnoxious behavior, Hasan has gained some opposition because of his contentious political statements. These influencers’ reputations not only affect their presence but also hamper their efforts to do something good. 

HasanAbi and IShowSpeed were bashed by fans for their charity effort

Seeing the devastation caused in Turkey and Syria, Hasan couldn’t help but jump into the scene to lend as much as possible. Being a survivor himself, Hasan made sure to do as much as could to help. In 1999, when the mega 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit Istanbul, Hasan was there to witness the nightmarish situation with his own eyes.

In his efforts, Hasan was able to raise $594,949.69 (at the time of writing) through the Fundraiser. The official website of the fundraiser is still accepting donations for the cause. Hasan expects to raise a million dollars or as close as he could get to the number to send the most possible help to the survivors in Turkey. 

Many big names, such as Jacksepticeye and Ludwig, came forward to lend a helping hand. IShowSpeed is one of them. But as he was making his preparations to send $50,000 worth of donations to the charity few members of his chat stopped him. Sending TTS donations that said Hasanabi is doing for his own gain, he is not going to give the money to the charities.

“This is how far motherf*cker will go. They stopped him from donating $50,000. They said it was a scam. And worst of all hundreds of thousands of people watching him think this is a scam. They lied and said I am filling my pockets while we are raising funds…” said the Hasan Piker after he caught the wind of the situation. 

In the end, Speed understood his mistake and made his donations. He donated $2000 four times. Making his total donation, $8000. Though the sum was significantly lower than what he had promised to give initially, HasanAbi and his community were still very grateful to speed for his help.
