Following the lackluster outing in Berlin, 100Thieves’s owner, Nadeshot shed light on the team benching Joshua “steel” Nissan. Steel had been leading the team as an in-game leader and main-stay Sentinel player.

“I love Josh, I think Steel is an incredible player. The team just needed something different, um right now. I don’t play with the players every day. I am ugh, not in scrims, I am not in their meetings, I am not in any of that. So, if you guys want to hear more about it then I am sure the players will talk about it to the point that they’re comfortable, but, you know this isn’t the end of Steel, the end of his career, and of 100thieves, you know what I mean. It’s just, gotta try something different.”

100Thieves appoints Nitro as the in-game leader

Following Steel’s removal from active duty, the organization has decided to appoint Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella as the in-game leader. The 26-year-old player has led Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster on the splendid run in 2019. His time as the in-game leader was so impressive that Team Liquid went on an unbeaten run lifting 9 tournaments win in a row. It is widely regarded as the era of Team Liquid, and arguably the most impressive run by any North American team.

Safe to say, 100Thieves is definitely in great hands with Nitro, bringing his years of experience as a leader. It could impact his gameplay. but Nitro is known for having nerves of steel and it is explicitly visible in his performance. He always shows up in a big way, when the team needs it the most. And his remarkable performance against Ascend on Breeze is still etched in everyone’s memory.
