CS:GO has been known to be the top FPS game in the industry for decades. With the pro scene still booming, millions of players still play the game on a monthly basis. Since the game’s inception back in 2000, players have enjoyed the clean FPS gameplay without too many mechanical changes to the game. Over time, developers have improved graphics and gameplay, but they have kept the game’s objective the same for the past 23 years. While most things haven’t changed, the same cannot be said about the ranking system.
Although there isn’t much that changes in the game besides a few map spots, weapon balancing, and graphics. The competitive scene is a different story altogether. CS:GO comes with a ranked mode where players can climb the ladder to be among the very best in the world. While the developers have drastically changed how they calculate ranks, some players are not pleased with the current state of the game. With more players queuing up for ranks every day, one frustrated player took to Reddit regarding his concerns.

Fans express their disappointment in the CS:GO rank system
One CS:GO rank player shared his opinion on the new rank calculation system in the game. The gamer took to Reddit with their frustration with the recently updated ELO system used in the game. The new system seems to be negatively impacting the player’s gaming experience.
The player stated that after losing three games, they began to lose a substantial amount of ELO in each match. This has made it challenging for them to regain their rating. They expressed their belief that losing 500 ELO for a single loss is unfair.

They mentioned their drop in ELO, going from 15,500 to 12,500 in only five games. This underscores how a losing streak can have a severe impact. Winning six games in a row helps the player regain some lost ELO. However, they emphasize that subsequent losses negate these gains.

In an edit, they emphasize that the post is not solely about complaining about teammates. Instead, it primarily addresses the perceived harshness of the ELO system, where losing is significantly more punishing than in other ranking systems.
