Resident Evil 4 Remake sells over 3 million copies in the first two days!

This game was already on the must-buy list of many long-time fans of this series. The biggest reason is that Resident Evil 4 is basically considered the best game in the series by many. And the other reason for such popularity was Capcom’s open-handed approach to showing off this game.

Most companies just show a couple of trailers and are done, but Capcom took it upon itself to show off the best parts of this game all around. They even partnered with Game Informer to cover this game. And fans were loving what they saw, it was exactly what they wanted from this remake.

Hence, when this game launched, it instantly became a huge success. It ended up selling over 3 million copies in the first two days of its launch. Now it didn’t stop there either; it became the second fastest-selling game in the series too, only game that’s ahead of it is Resident Evil 6, which sold 4.5 copies in two days. Still, this latest installment in the series is so successful that it has even surpassed the lifetime sales of its GameCube and PS2 versions combined.

This game has proven yet again that single-player survival horror titles are still pretty lucrative. In fact, there are a bunch of games that have set a similar example this year. The success of this game and of another survival horror game, Dead Space, simply means fans will see more such games released in the coming years.
