There are numerous genres of video games. But some say Zombie games come a dime a dozen. Even though every month a new first-person shooter makes its way to the gaming market.

But yes, there was indeed a time when this genre featuring “brain eaters” was an oversaturated market. There were so many Zombie games that players really started feeling burned out. This changed when developers ventured into other genres. We still get zombie games now and then, but nowadays, they do not come in hordes. And amongst those games, there’s no shortage of quality games either.

Zombi U is a rogue like zombie game

This game launched as one of the titles that took full advantage of Wii U’s features. The second screen in the controller was used to manage the player’s backpack. And when they died, another character took their place, and it gave them the option to retrieve their stuff from where their last avatar died.

And if they choose to not retrieve it, that means they have to start from scratch.

Days Gone is a zombie game with a red-dead complex!

Sony’s first-party Zombie game has everything, fancy visuals, a bike to ride, addictive gameplay, and hordes and hordes of Zombies.

While the story lacks, there are plenty of things to keep players invested.

Dead Rising 2 is a zombie game for shoppers!

Ever seen those movies where a character builds a crazy weapon out of items they found in their garage? Those movies might have taken some ideas from this game. Players play a character stuck in a mall amidst an ongoing zombie apocalypse.

And they have to gather items and re-purpose them into weapons in order to keep themselves alive!

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare

Red Dead Redemption is considered one of the best open-world western titles of all time, and it is no coincidence that the only expansion to this game, which is about a bunch of zombies, is also one of the best in its class.

It’s not your typical zombie romp either, there’s a lot of fantasy in the mix. Unicorns, bigfoot, burning horses, players can find everything in this game. Also lassoing a zombie and throwing them from feels very special indeed!

Resident Evil 4

Who can forget this game? Some consider it be the best zombie game ever made. Others call it the best survival horror game of all time. Its success is evident from the number of copycats that it spawned. And some games that it inspired went on to be really good too.

The biggest example of that is Dead Space!

Necromorphs are space zombies unlike any other. They look hideous and they don’t die from headshots, players have to actually cut their limbs to kill them.

And it sounds easier than done. Dead Space is one of the creepiest games ever made and its remake that recently launched is just perfect. So just try it!

Left 4 Dead 2

Very few gamers do not know what this game is. It is about shooting zombies, but not alone. Up to four friends can team up and shoot hordes and hordes of zombies.
Numerous weapons are available and numerous types of zombies are available to be shot at.
