The first retro-inspired game on the list. The Sea of Stars is a turn-based game by Sabotage Studio. The game is a prequel to ‘The Messenger’. It narrates the story of two children of Solstice who possess powers of the sun and the moon. They combine these powers to form eclipse magic, which is the only means to ward off and destroy monstrosities in the game. The game is expected to release on August 29, 2023.

A spin-off of the famous Yakuza series, Like a Dragon: Ishin! is an action-adventure game where players can don a samurai who uses his fighting skills coupled with a vintage revolver. The robust combat system is aimed at making the players hooked to the game. Rumors are that the game will be released in the latter half of February 2023.

6. Wild Hearts

The game is set in a fantasy world called Azuma, which is rather largely inspired by feudal Japan. Players are tasked to hunt and kill massive monsters in Azuma.
