The game has a 10/10 rating on Steam and an 8/10 rating on IGN. Resident Evil Village also won the Game of the Year for Best Performance in 2021. It can be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, macOS, and Nintendo Switch.

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 was the turning point for the franchise as Capcom decided to bring back the game but with a blend of action in it. Released in 2005, Resident Evil 4 is one of the most played and even the most recommended RE games of the decade. It is mostly because of the fact that the game found a mid-way balance between the fun factor and scary elements.

Selling over 2.7 Million copies, RE4 has a rating of 9/10 on Steam and 9.2/10 on IMDb. The game can be played on GameCube, PlayStation 2, Windows, Wii, iOS, Zeebo, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Android, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Notably, a remake of the game is supposed to come out in 2023.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

The scariest game of the series, Resident Evil Biohazard, was the saving point of the series after it was almost losing its grip on the fan base with some rough releases. RE Biohazard has had one of the best horror experiences in any video game in recent years. With a claustrophobic vibe, psychopathic family members, and dying almost every few minutes, the game has the most gruesome gameplay in the entire franchise.

Rated 7.7 on IGN and 86% on MetaCritic, the game is an underrated masterpiece. It can be played on Windows, PlayStation 4,  Xbox One,  Nintendo Switch, Amazon Luna, Stadia, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Resident Evil Revelations 2

A criminally underrated and unappreciated game of the franchise, Resident Evil Revelations 2, is the game that in a true sense is actually about fighting the zombie virus. Set between the events of RE 5 and RE Revelations, RE Revelations 2 has brilliantly crafted game mechanics and split-screen mechanics.

The game has a rating of 7/10 on IGN and 73% on Metacritic. It can be played on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows.
