Like A Dragon: Ishin

The famous Yakuza video game series has a lot going on this year. First, the series underwent a name change, which is not actually a name change. Yakuza games would be called “Like a Dragon,” which translates to the series’s Japanese name, “Ryu Ga Gotoku.”

The Yakuza series unveiled their next game in line, a spin-off called Like a Dragon: Ishin. The game would be set in the 1800s instead of the modern game setting like the other Yakuza games. This time it would be classic samurai-style combat, meaning katanas instead of assault rifles.

However, the protagonist carries a big gun with him. Further, this new game would have more violence and blood than other Yakuza games. Also, there are rumors about no dubs this time. All characters would be speaking in Japanese, but players will get subs to understand, or they can attend some Japanese classes.

God of War Ragnarok

The most awaited PlayStation game at the moment is undoubtedly God of War Ragnarok. The game is only a few more weeks away, releasing on November 9. So, nothing can be better than a new story trailer at the State of Play to hype the fans.

The new trailer revealed much more about the upcoming game, like Kratos struggling to interact with his now teenage son Atreus. The father-son duo joins hands with the Norse God of War, Tyr. Further, the game has new enemies to fight, like the Valkyries, and we also see Kratos fighting Thor. The showcase event also revealed a limited-time God of War Ragnarok-themed DualSense Controller.

Rise of a Ronin

Sony followed its roots in the latest State of Play, presenting many games with a Japanese setting. Tekken 8 and Like a Dragon: Ishin weren’t the only Japanese game, as they also revealed Rise of a Ronin. The famous Japanee game developers Team Ninja will be developing this upcoming game.

We learned from the game’s reveal that it would be set in the Bakumatsu Era, similar to Like a Dragon: Ishin. The game would revolve around a ronin, a free samurai without a master, facing threats and solving mysteries. The game also features amazing graphics. Undoubtedly, fans would be looking forward to this game.
