Top Kirby Title Stamps Nintendo’s Mark on the Prestigious Grammy Awards 2022

Nintendo just got yet another reason to celebrate this year, thanks to the Grammys 2022. It may sound unbelievable but an orchestra just won an award at the biggest musical event, for a cover it made on the song from the Kirby franchise.
While Kirby and the Forgotten Land is swaying the players at the moment, the Nintendo series itself seems to have taken the world by storm.

In case anyone missed it, somehow, the 8-Bit Big Band orchestra just won a Grammy for its cover of the song from the Kirby franchise. The winning group consists of 30-65 Jazz/Pop members. They are based in New York City and are quite well-known for making musical covers based on famous video games.

In the year 2018, the band released its album titled “Press Start!”. The album featured music from iconic Nintendo IPs like Super Mario, Zelda, and also Ganbare Goemon, F-Zero, and Final Fantasy.
8-Bit Big Band unveiled its second album “Choose Your Character” in 2019; consisting of the covers of Portal, Sonic, Donkey Kong Country, and many others.
On Sunday, April 3rd, 2022, the orchestra group won the Grammy for its cover of Meta Knight’s Revenge from the 1996 SNES game Kirby Superstar. The award was given to the band under the category of Best Arrangement, Instrumental, or A Cappella. Nintendo must be feeling really proud right now, without a doubt, following this amazing victory.
After winning a Grammy trophy, the co-arranger Charlie Rosen expressed his happiness on Twitter. “LONG LIVE VIDEO GAME MUSIC!!”, he wrote.

Following this unbelievable accomplishment, for Nintendo’s Kirby series, the fans also shared their happiness on social media. They praised the orchestra and its music-making style. Others called it a huge achievement for video games, especially in terms of offering great soundtracks. “Well deserved!”, wrote a user who was extremely happy about this news.
