GTA 6 is the one game that everyone is waiting for very eagerly. But the developer, Rockstar Games, refuses to even utter a word regarding this upcoming game. While fans know a thing or two about it, all thanks to those recent leaks, there’s much that’s still a mystery.

The most recent rumor about this game suggests that it will have a co-op mode. In fact, players would be able to complete the whole campaign in co-op mode. Let’s hope this rumor turns out to be true, as co-op is never a bad thing. And we have a bunch of examples to prove this.

Everyone knew this game was being released to compete against GTA 4. But no one was ready for what this game was bringing to the table. Saints Row: The Third was an insane roller coaster ride that just got crazier and crazier as more and more people played it. Its single-player campaign was insanely fun.

To add to its charm, developer Volition included a co-op mode that allowed players to complete the whole campaign with a friend, which was just incredible.

Monster Hunter: Rise

This is a game about hunting monsters, skinning them, and making their body parts into weapons, armor, and other such equipment. By default, this game is massive; players can play it for hours and hours and they would not run out of things to do.

Imagine having a complete co-op to complement the single-player campaign. Players get to explore every single location and hunt every monster with their friends.

Don’t Starve Together

Klei Entertainment made this Tim Burton-inspired survival game for people who love a bit of a challenge. Crafting one thing from other things and surviving a world full of creepy things is not easy after all. Many players loved this game and braved its world.

Then came Don’t Starve Together, a co-op version of the game with its own story mode. People could complete the campaign mode with a friend and survive with each other’s support.

Assassin’s Creed Unity

Of course, there’s an Assassin’s Creed title on this list. Ubisoft is never behind when it comes to following fads. But this time they actually did a very good job indeed. Imagine being able to join up to four friends and masterfully eliminate a target or complete a mission in stealth.

If it had been any better, this mode would have become a mainstay in this series. But this game was riddled with technical issues, and the idea never took off.

Dying Light

We have covered several different genres already. Now, we move on to the zombie horror genre. Dying Light is, by default, a thrilling ride through an infected world. Players will see that there is no shortage of fun to be had.

But surviving this brutal world with a pal, that’s something altogether different. Imagine parkouring over the roofs of a fictional European city with a friend and killing an occasional zombie or two. Insane fun indeed!

Elden Ring

FromSoftware has always included a co-op mode in their usual Souls games. Demon Souls, the Dark Souls series, and Bloodborne all had a way for players to join their friends in killing those hard-as-nails bosses.

And then came Elden Ring, a massive open-world take on the Souls franchise, and players can, of course, play this game in co-op too. They can accompany their pals in exploring this ruthless world and uncovering its secrets.

Co-op definitely increases the fun to be had in any game. All the above games have proven this in their own capacities. And that is why it would be very exciting if Rockstar decided to add a co-op campaign mode to their upcoming big-budget sandbox game.
