Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been one of the significant pillars in the first-person shooter competitive scene for over a decade. Finally, Valve has announced the successor for this renowned FPS game, Counter-Strike 2.

The new title is set to release in the Summer of 2023. However, Valve has already started giving access to some players for limited-time fans. One of the key things in a first-person shooter is how a gun shoots. So the spray pattern does matter in a game. For those who don’t know about the spray pattern, it is the bullet’s direction when a player continuously shoots from a firearm.

So CS: GO players who were worried about the changes to the spray pattern in the upcoming sequel, won’t need to worry anymore. Those who have tried the limited test so far found out that the pattern remains the same. However, it might feel a little clunky.

6. The new smoke in Counter-Strike 2

One of the biggest talks in the Counter-Strike community is about the new smoke in the upcoming CS2. Even the CS: GO legend Shroud was impressed by the new smoke mechanism. Cause Valve has gone for a little realistic with the smoke mechanics.

In CS 2, shooting through smoke will form a small opening through which the player can see the other side of the smoke. But if someone shoots in the middle of the smoke, it doesn’t give a much clearer view of the other side. But shooting at the edges of the smoke does give a clearer view because of the less density of smoke there.

However, the players have noticed some unique behavior in the smoke. It doesn’t spread much if thrown on a box, but instantly spreads in a wide area if thrown on the ground.

5. FPS in the new Counter-Strike 2

There aren’t many fluctuations in the frame rates while playing the upcoming CS 2. However, some players have noticed significant FPS drop while near a smoke. But the game is still under development so it might get fixed.

Now the performance of a game has a huge impact on most video games. But that isn’t the case here. Even running CS 2 in a low-performance setting wouldn’t give a drastic boost to the FPS. So players won’t need to sacrifice performance or visuals for FPS.

4. Strafing can be annoying on ramps

The strafing mechanic on a ramp surface in CS 2 can be annoying for many players. For those who don’t know, strafing is the sideways moment in a video game.

So while strafing on a ramp surface in Counter-Strike 2, players will notice a lot of wobbles in their crosshair movement. So shooting from a ramp while moving sideways might be annoying for many players.

3. No more invisible walls

In CS: GO, players might have noticed that throwing a bomb across a map used to get blocked by some sort of invisible wall. But Valve eliminated this from the Counter-Strike. Now players can throw bombs across a map in the upcoming CS2 without any hindrance.

2. The Tickless feature

The “Tickless” feature is one of the most-talked-about features of Counter-Strike 2. Valve revealed that the CS: GO server only evaluated the world in discrete time intervals called ticks. But in the upcoming title, servers know the exact instant when a motion starts in the game.

The advantage of this tickless feature would be more responsive gameplay in the upcoming Counter-Strike game.
