In almost every professional content creator’s career, sponsors play a very important part. Where ad revenues can be unreliable sometimes, sponsorships provide a somewhat steady flow of support for the influencers. But these sponsors can be a headache at times and popular female streamer Pokimane shared her experience with such promotions. 

Imane Anys aka Pokimane, is one of the most recognized faces of the streaming community. In her long career, Imane has once achieved the top spot among female streamers on Twitch. Looking at her popularity and presence as a streamer, it is not surprising that she gets some huge offers from sponsors. 

Pokimane regrets her “six-figure” sponsorship

In an OTV Podcast episode from almost three years ago, the members of the popular streamers group could be seen recalling the sponsorship deals that they regret. The members seen in this video were Michael, Scarra, Disguised Toast, and Pokimane. Toast started the conversation as he asked, “Have you guys ever regretted any sponsorship?”

Scarra quickly said, “yes” and Michael followed with a “no” but then changed his answer saying, “Well… nope, no, never mind yeah sorry.” Poki joined in and said she knows which sponsorship Michael was talking about. She added, “I don’t know about regret, but I will say I have at least a six-figure amount that I have not received yet.”

Hearing this, Toast exclaimed, “what are you doing for six figures?” To give the full context about the statement, Poki said, “it’s not like one thing. Like there are things like that I have not received yet, and cumulatively it is at least six figures that I am like, is it coming?” 

Does OTV hate mobile games?

The whole conversation started when Toast started confessing about his recent sponsorship, where he worked with a mobile game company. He didn’t take any names, but he shared it was a very generic pay-to-win mobile title. “It was quintessential sh*tty mobile, build your kingdom game.” He made fun of the game’s pay-to-win mechanics by saying, “pay gems to skip your construction and save 5 mins…” 

Poki and Michael talked about how crazy mobile game sponsorships are. The amount they pay the streamers is absurd. For example, Poki said, where other sponsors offer around $5k, mobile games will offer somewhere around $20k. According to her, it’s like they are sharing “Bill Gates” money. But she doesn’t confirm if her “six-figure” sponsorship was also a mobile game.
