The world of comic books, anime, and even video games, have produced many iconic, powerful heroes and characters who can decimate anything in their path to obtain what they seek. Kratos has been regarded as one of the strongest characters in all of gaming, as the god has defeated the entire pantheon of Greek mythology and even death on two occasions.

The former God is currently venturing in the Norse Pantheon that will pit him against Thor, Odin, and other iconic gods. But before that clash can take place, the community has pitted Kratos against Marvel’s omnipotent being Thanos. With the power of infinity stones, Thanos is unstoppable, as he easily stomped the entire roster of Avengers to decimate 50% of all living beings.

Twitter stands divided over the fantasy battle between God of War and Thanos

It is quite difficult to find a meaningful way to settle fantasy debates of this nature. Aside from conducting fan polls, there isn’t a clear way to figure out who the winner would be. Unless a death battle of some sort was involved.

A recent poll conducted by GameSpot, saw Kratos winning the battle with 81% votes, while only 19% favored Thanos to win the battle.

Beating Hulk in a fistfight so badly that the green rage-filled monster becomes depressed is not an ordinary feat, and Thanos did it without ever possessing a single stone. Kratos operates in a similar manner, which might tip the scale in the favor of Marvel’s antagonist.

Fans have underestimated Thanos greatly. The all-knowing, all-powerful being has a laundry of skills and abilities that could prove to be too much for the God of War.

Fans on the other end of the spectrum argued for Kratos, as the unruly god has never spared anyone who ever stood in front of him. His brute strength and unrivaled rage are so intense that he can’t die. How will Thanos beat a warrior that always goes for the head?

It is true that Kratos is extremely fast, as the wargod is capable of controlling time, which will take away any advantage that Thanos possessed.

This fan’s take is on-point, MCU’s Thanos has been powered down incredibly, so as to fit him within the live-action universe. This would make him an easy target for Kratos to beat, as he has already murdered gods and beings far stronger than Thanos.

Fans also pitched the real version of Thanos against Kratos, who managed to decimate beings that possessed cosmic powers. Is Kratos’s rage enough to beat this version of Thanos?

Thor might be the only deciding factor in this debate, as Thanos seemed to struggle a bit against him in the end. But he did best the thunder god. In the next iteration of God of War: Ragnarok, fans will get to witness Kratos going against him that could decide the winner.
