Dissing Conor McGregor would generally have its consequences. The MMA star is often considered the poster boy for the sport. His flamboyant attitude on and off the court has established him as a fearsome warrior who is always ready for a fight. However, in the latest gameplay trailer for EA Sports UFC 5, McGregor made an appearance in a way that wasn’t expected by fans of the sport.
McGregor’s infamous leg injury during his fight with Dustin Poirier was the unlikely guest star of the recent gameplay trailer and EA fans can’t help but chuckle at the scene. While many view McGregor as one of the best in the business, his leg injury spectacle wasn’t something warranted to take center stage in the UFC 5 trailer.

Conor McGregor isn’t ever too shy to back down from a fight. The Irish superstar has had dozens of fights during his career and has an impressive track record. However, during his fight against Poirier in UFC 264, McGregor suffered a terrible ankle injury that could have ended his career inside the octagon. While the MMA fighter looks to make a return to the game sometime in the future, his leg injury has become part of the lore for the game. Now, this painful memory might become a standard feature in UFC 5.
In the recently revealed trailer for the upcoming EA Sports UFC 5, the devs have highlighted multiple features of the game. The revamped physics and mechanics of the game look pretty sweet.

However, during the demonstration of how injuries work in the upcoming game, the devs used McGregor’s character. And one fan on X (formerly known as Twitter) believes this selection wasn’t all coincidence and someone has taken a deliberate dig at the Irish MMA legend.

The fan thinks it’s cold on the dev’s part to use Conor’s leg injury to highlight the new features of UFC 5. Whether it’s intentional or a coincidence, it clearly didn’t go down well with the user.
