It is hard for public figures to run alternate businesses without being subject to public scrutiny. One miscalculated decision can produce serious repercussions, and Valkyrae just learned that lesson in the hardest way possible. The 29-year-old streamer found herself on the bad side of things when she decided to launch a skincare/beauty product in RFLCT.
The product made bold claims of combating skin issues that screens can create, which turned out to be false. In the end, it threw the streamer into hot waters, as she offered a public apology and also shared her statement about the whole situation. Sadly, the public backlash was far too severe, and it compelled Rae to take a break from streaming. Now, the Queen of YouTube has finally returned, and she offered more insights into her mental health.

Valkyrae was pushed into a dark place because of RFLCT
Her return to streaming after a long hiatus was mostly met with positive feedback. Fans quizzed her about her mental health and how she had been dealing with the entire situation with RFLCT. She stated that her mental health hasn’t improved all that much, and she still has anxiety issues. “During those two weeks..I was..you know..I was having like really dark thoughts, you know? But I don’t have those thoughts anymore, um.. I am more on a positive mindset rather than a negative mindset. I am more..um..grateful for the things that I do like I have a lot to be grateful for, so something like this, I don’t want to let it hinder me anymore.”
