The developers of Genshin Impact, miHoYo, just released their new game project, Honkai: Star Rail. This fourth installment in the Honkai series is taking the world by storm. The proof of the success is the stellar number of downloads on the launch day. Honkai: Star Rail surpassed Genshin Impact when it got over 20 million downloads in just one day.

But this addicting gacha title has caused a debacle in an FPS title’s world. Recently a VCT team had to forfeit, and Honkai: Star Rail was at the center of it.

Honkai: Star Rail leads to the funniest forfeit in Valorant Champions Tour history

The incident occurred in the Valorant Challengers League Taiwan/Hong Kong. The match between S2 Esports and Ghost CommandoS (GCS) was scheduled on May 2. But GCS forfeited the match to much surprise from fans. Later, the reason for this action was revealed to a player on GCS playing miHoYo’s new title.

Due to the player being busy with Star Rail, he could not download and install the VCT client on time. This was most certainly the most unusual way for a forfeit. But this has also gotten VCT a lot of criticism for making players download clients in the middle of the season.

A player in the Valorant Challengers League Taiwan/Hong Kong gave an explanation for this. He said, “I play in this VCT, and they use 3 different clients, swapping between them weekly, this week there was an update to the first one we used to include Bind and the new skin set basically making it close to the latest release, and the update was basically the size of a normal client.”

The internet was in laughter after finding out the reason for forfeit

The fans also had some funny reactions to the unfortunate forfeit. They believed that 3D virtual waifus are taking over the world.
