Valorant is currently witnessing its first S-Tier event of the year. People eagerly watch and support their favorite regions and teams at the VCT Lock-In. With all the twists and turns the event offers, Riot is adding more excitement for the fans with a huge announcement. In a recently released video, the Agent Lead of Riot for Valorant discussed the potential agent pool heading into the game this year. And he gave out the fantastic news that three new agents will join the current agent tally.

Valorant announces three new agents to the game

Within just two and half years since its introduction, Valorant has become one of the biggest FPS games in the industry. With more and more tournaments and players coming in, the community is ever-expanding. Now great news graces the ears of the community as three new agents will join the game in 2023.

John Goscicki, the Agent Lead of Valorant, announced the news. Additionally, he went on to talk about the category in which the new agents will be featured. One is supposed to be an initiator and one a Sentinel.“We are not quite going to give that away yet,” was the response towards the class of the third agent.

Indeed, this is exciting news for the players and will shake up the current meta. New agent introductions always have caused dramatic changes in gaming playstyle. Remember when Chamber came out? He dominated the pick rate and was a tough foe to fight against. As he is nerfed and Killjoy is the tyrannical Sentinel agent, a new addition would pose competition for the current Meta.

Next agent and the unannounced role

The following agent that will hit the game would likely be the initiator. The speculation arises from what Goscicki said in the video. “Soon agent 22 will be joining the fight…New ways to check corners, get on to locations, plant the spike…” From this, the style of play mentioned looks like an initiator-oriented one. This is, however, just a theory.

As for the unannounced third agent category, it might mostly be a Duelist. This is just a speculation based on the factor that Harbor, who got recently released, was a controller, and the next two are expected to be an Initiator and a Sentinel. Speculations aside, 2023 will be a blast for the Valorant community.
