The betting industry has seen a sharp incline in the last few years, as most countries legalized it. Plus, it saw the arrival of much more participants, sharing interests across various industries. However, the betting world also walked into the eSports space, adding a new genre in recent times. This paved the way for avid users to bet on pro players, be it a match, a point, or a whole tournament.

League Of Legends can be the best example to introspect this as one of the betting websites shut down access in October. Apparently, the LOL world witnessed excessive betting, which spoiled the game at the world level. So, they decided to call it quits with half of them in time. But now, the issue seems to be churning up once again as Valorant pros have addressed it. Surprisingly, they have penned down thoughts about bettors using crypto as an asset to bet on players. But sadly, it has started to cause a major issue, as it does not seem to be in their favor.

Valorant world witnesses the unnecessary rise of crypto-betting leading to a chaos

This has become a serious issue, as the pros have come across such situations multiple times. Moreover, a few of them have also expressed their feelings on Twitter. Here’s what some of them said.

NRG’s Pujan Mehta spared a statement saying“If there is a crypto bettor on the other team, can we all please agree to throw the game? I want them to lose every cent and be on the street begging me for a sandwich. Thanks.”

Another streamer, TenZ, also shared his views saying, “This throwing situation in ranked is actually getting ridiculous.” As of now, Riot Games is yet to comment on this issue, as we have seen no statement from them.

But it is important to understand that if the issue pertains, the pros would just shift to private games, leading to a longer queue time for avid gamers.
