It’s been a few months since the release of Electronic Arts’ Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. Built on Unreal Engine 4, Respawn Entertainment offered an exclusive trip into the life of a Jedi through this game. And fans were curious about a sequel. However, in the midst of anticipation, a surprising decision has come to light, raising questions regarding the future of the franchise.
After Jedi Survivors’ success, Asmussen spoke about his interest in bringing a third Star Wars title. However, now it looks like that dream will not be a reality for fans.
Star War game director steps down in a surprising move

Respawn Entertainment, the subsidiary of Electronic Arts, announced that their Visionary Director Stig Asmussen will no longer work with the company. And this decision has taken everyone by surprise, considering only recently, he had expressed his desire to make a full trilogy. Insider Gaming released the news on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The statement didn’t mention about his upcoming endeavors–“After careful thought and consideration, Stig Asmussen has decided to leave Respawn to pursue other adventures, and we wish him the best of luck. Veteran Respawn leaders will be stepping up to guide the team as they continue their work on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.”

While it is truly a sad day for Star Wars fans, Respawn managed to cheer up the players by announcing a brand-new project-“And you should imagine that there’s some other things going on at Respawn that we’re very excited about, that we’re not going to talk about but that we’re very excited about just given the quality of that group.”
While Asmussen will no longer be working with EA, CEO Andrew Wilson’s comment hinted to fans about an exclusive upcoming title from the studio. Now people can only know whether it is another Star Wars project or not after the team’s official announcement.

Exploding the Star Wars universe with Jedi Survivor
Released in April this year, Jedi Survivor offered an action-adventure environment starting the story from five years after Fallen Order. Star Wars: Jedi Survivor offered five new light saber combats with unique features for players. Fallen Order’s dual-wield stance became fully functional in Jedi Survivor.
Players can explore the Star Wars universe through the young Jedi Cal Kestis. The narrative of the gameplay offers how Cal and his friends go through various adventures. This adventure involved defeating the Galactic Empire’s notorious moves to survive.

Released on Xbox One, X/S, PlayStation 4 and 5 with Windows, this game received a great response from the fans. And while news about a third game is yet to be shared, fans remain curious as tot he direction of the franchise with Asmussen stepping down.
