“Wasn’t Unwatchably, Insufferably Horrible…” – YouTube Harsh Critic moistcr1tikal Gives His Honest Opinions About the Newly Released the Last of Us Show on HBO Max

The recently released, highly anticipated HBO show based on the critically acclaimed game, The Last of Us, has received a very positive reception so far. Fans and critics both are praising the first episode of the show and the team for making an adaptation faithful to the source, which is quite rare in other adaptations.

Even YouTube’s Harsh critic Moistcr1tikal expressed some positive opinions about the show. In a recent review, Charles Christopher White Jr aka Moist gave his honest opinions about the show. Many know Charles for his absurdly hilarious use of profanity-enriched modern slangs to express his thoughts and during this, there was no shortage of his ‘way with the words”.

Moistcr1tikal’s review of the Last of Us

Naughty Dog’s magnum opus, The Last of Us, had many ups and downs in the development of its adaptation. At first, a movie adaptation was under development by Sam Raimi, which eventually got dropped. According to the reports, the differences between the executives and the development team’s vision caused this downfall.

But in the end, the show became a reality with the collaboration between ‘Chernobyl’ writer Craig Mazin and the original co-writer and director of the game, Neil Druckmann. Produced by HBO, the series promised a faithful adaptation of the legendary games. And so far, it seems they may be able to stay true to their promise.

Even one of the harshest critics of the internet, Moistcr1tikal seems to enjoy the first episode of the series. “The first episode of the Last of Us show wasn’t unwatchably, insufferably horrible like most adaptations these days. It was actually good. Finally, we’ve got another adaptation that is faithful to the source material.” said Charles.

So far, the show has only been able to scratch the surface of the grand story that is “The Last of Us”. But according to Moist, the show has already passed one of its most difficult tests. In the original game released back in 2013, one of the most significant scenes was the intro. 

According to Moist the LoU “Intro was the best gaming has to offer” and it was equally important for the show to nail the intro scene as it could have been the deal breaker for many fans if the show had failed to portray faithfully those initial moments between the protagonist Joel and his beloved daughter Sarah. But according to Moist the does a “Fucking amazing job at capturing” the essence of the original intro.
