To teach Max the basics of the widely played title, Thompson customized his keyboard as per Max’s requirement. He detached all keys from his keyboard, barring two, one to move forward and the other for left-click. He then added cardboard paddles to the key to simplify the task for Max. Thompson referred to the keyboard as “a horrendously over simplified keyboard that Max can play Minecraft on,” followed by changing the controls to “dog mode.”

Of course, it took the YouTuber a million attempts and dog-treats to teach Max how to use the keys on command. Thankfully, Thompson was ultimately able to teach Max to use one key as “Destroy” and the other to “Walk” on Thompson’s command. Max then went on a spider-killing spree, destroying every spider in sight.

Over the course of Max’s training, the YouTuber “managed to get max to destroy stuff… managed to get max to walk,” and even “managed to, unintentionally, get max to jump,” covering all the basics of Minecraft.
