Robert James Gronkowski has been making the headlines recently. First, it was his thoughts on the young buck Joe Burrow that earned him a stint in the spotlight. And more recently, ‘The Gronk’ told USA Today that he expects Tom Brady to make a return to NFL in a few years. But his latest claim to fame is perhaps the most unexpected, as a certain Xbox controller would tell you.

Rob’s recent stunt sees him showing off his strength to his audience. Cameron Cox, the sports anchor at 12 News, uploaded a peculiar video to his Twitter on February 13. The video features the Gronk with a very unfortunate Xbox controller.

The adrenaline-fueled video sees Rob start off slowly, as he turns to the camera and asks:

It becomes apparent that something big is about to go down as anticipation fills the entire room. Notably, the Gronk is clutching an Xbox controller in his hand, though it is hard to distinguish whether it’s an elite-series controller. Moreover, it seems out of place in the otherwise empty room Rob is standing in.

However, before the viewer can muse on these questions, the video kicks into high gear. Rob wastes no time winding back his arm and sends the Xbox controller careening down to the floor in an impact that easily shatters the controller to bits. Significantly, the entire room feels the impact of that swing as the audience breaks into a loud exclamation.
The Gronk walks it off with a simple “Yeah baby” as shattered bits line the room. One thing is for sure, you do not want to be around when Rob succumbs to gamer rage in a game of Madden.
Subsequently, he retweeted Cox’s video with an amusing quip of his own. “I needed that controller for Beach Buggy,” Gronkowski tweeted.
