2022 was the year of spectacle in the world of gaming. The year was blessed with many masterclass games that won praise from both critics and fans. Among these two of the most well-known and acclaimed games of the year was God of War: Ragnarok and Elden Ring. Both of them were nominated for the “Game of the Year” award at the prestigious Game Awards 2022.
Though God of War bagged a plethora of accolades in the show, Elden Ring won the “Game of the Year”. Accolades aside, both of the games are highly adored by fans, and almost all of them at least once pondered this question. What if they were combined? And finally, to fulfill the communities wishes, a YouTuber named Tye Taylor, took the responsibility on his own shoulders and brought the Ghost of Sparta to his new frontier, the Lands Between.

Elden Ring is a game developed by FromSoftware. They’re known for games like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and now Elden Ring. These games are famous for their extremely difficult gameplay and unforgiving mechanics. FromSoftware’s games have such distinct vibes to them that they have managed to develop their own genre, called SoulsBorne (combining the names of Dark Souls and Blood Borne).

On the other hand, the New God of War is much more accessible in terms of difficulty and has a different gameplay style than SoulsBorne games. But fundamentally both games are quite alike. In both stories, the main character has to kill Gods to save the world. So it was only a matter of time till someone would connect the dots. And Tye Taylor did exactly that:-

In a video called, “Can You Beat Elden Ring As The God Of War?”, the YouTuber showcased a mod where players can play as the Ghost of Sparta, Kratos, and challenge the Demi-Gods with his iconic Weapons such as the Blades of Chaos, Levithan Axe and the Draupnir Spear from the God of War: Ragnarok.
Except for the weapons and character skins, the game was the same (at least for the most part). But Taylor had another spectacle waiting for his viewers at the end of the video. As the player (Kratos) made their way through the game, killing Gods and monsters in classic Kratos fashion, the last boss of the game was a surprise no one had expected.

In the normal game, the final boss is Radagon followed by Elden Beast. But in the modded version, the battle with Radagon was changed to none other than the terrifying God of Thunder of Norse Mythology, Thor, straight from the God of War: Ragnarok. Thor had the same movies as Radagon, but instead of wielding the Marika’s Hammer, he was equipped with his trusty Mjollnir!
