WGA Strike has affected Hollywood massively, and now there is no sign of ‘The Last Of Us’ Season 2.

The 2023 Writers Guild of America has posed a serious problem to the production, renewals, and scripts of TV shows due to the lack of writers. It is an ongoing labor dispute between the Writers Guild of America labor union (representing 11,500 writers) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which began on the morning on May 2, 2023. This has led fans to be worried about their favorite shows as the masterminds behind the curtain have taken a pitstop.

And it’s not just the small time series that have taken a blow, but popular names like ‘The Last Of Us’ that were all set for season 2.

The Last Of Us series’ season 2 return could be the latest affected by the WGA Strike

With just two episodes on air, The Last Of Us Series made a massive impact on the market. Every episode brought a new dawn on the numbers, let alone top-tier appreciation from fans. And so, HBO Max renewed the series for another season, allowing the writers to paint the story of Joel and Ellie on the big screen.

Alas! The excitement faded in days as the WGA strike put a pit stop on production. This is because showrunner Craig Mazin was spotted on the streets along with the rest of the members. He represented WGA, protesting for the betterment of his union. Plus, the WGA guidelines prohibited him from working on any projects until the end of the protest. So, that was one member less, resulting in the pitstop.
