Insomniac Games has now proven its capability to develop excellent titles over the years. Every single game they have developed for the Sony PlayStation, from Spider-Man to Ratchet and Clank to Spider-Man 2, has been a brilliant experience for their respective fans. This raises a question, though: can Insomniac go back to multiplayer?

Every hardcore fan knows the studio’s Resistance franchise. Those games had a lot of good things, but their multiplayer stood out the most. And now that rumors of them working on a multiplayer game have started dropping in, one cannot help but wonder: what would the game be, and would Insomniac make it as good as its single-player titles?

What could Insomniac Game’s multiplayer Marvel title be?

Spider-Man 2 is not an experience one can miss. It’s a brilliant game with brilliant ideas and visuals that are just mind-blowing. Playing this game is like fulfilling the ultimate fantasy of being Spider-Man. It’s as if developer Insomniac Games left no stone unturned while working on it. Now that Spider-Man 2 is a massive hit, one cannot help but wonder: What is next for Insomniac?

A rumor has suggested that they are currently starting initial work on a multiplayer title. This rumor actually dropped in 2021. And then they even confirmed it to some extent. It was revealed that they are working on it alongside Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine. And now many have started speculating if it would be a multiplayer game set in the Marvel Universe. It could be anything; maybe it would be a co-op game based on the Avengers, or, as some are suggesting, it could be based on the Fantastic Four too.

Sony is, in fact, trusting them with these properties. They would not mind if they experimented a bit here and there. Hence, fans might even be in for a treat by playing a Fantastic Four multiplayer game.

They have to wait for more information from the studio for confirmation on anything, though.

What about Wolverine, though?

If one goes by the chronology of how these games were announced, it makes it pretty obvious that we would be seeing Wolverine first. Whatever game Insomniac is developing will come later. Maybe even after a few years.

Wolverine, on the other hand, is supposed to launch in 2024. The game had been in development for at least four years and is said to be Insomniac’s first-ever R-rated Marvel game. They are making it all bloody to keep it authentic to how Wolverine fights his enemies.
